"Ah, Home away from Home"
Three o'clock in the afternoon of a Friday, Emily Sherman asked Alyria to come in early to help with the kids production of The Little Blue Planet. Alyria didnt even know what it was about, but Alyria would usually help with a variety of shows for Emily and EAP, Ever After Productions, and other people in the companies of the Cherry Hill Village Theatre. Alyria walked into the back doors of the theatre, knowing the front doors were never open unless there was an actual show that night and they were opening, wearing a comfortable outfit of Yellow and White color combination.
Aly walked passed the dressing room hallway and straight to the garage across from the large opening to backstage to find Emily. She knew she was going to be there working on the rest of the set with the crew. And to her knowledge, Alyria did see Emily with Isaac, Johnathon, Michael, and Toby McLaughlin. The McLaughin's were like a family crew to the theatre, usually working on the stage lighting and sounds with Paul. They all felt like a family, the crew, thats what Aly loved about the companies at the CHV theatre.
Once seeing Emily there with the guys, Alyria walked in and got a closer look on what they were doing. They were finishing the stars and planets that were going to be hanging off the rafters, "Nice job guys!" She announced to the group as Emily looked up toward her with a smile. Emily wanted Alyria to warm up the children once they got to the theatre. She also wanted Aly to be a Techie for the shows. Backstage helping the kids get on and off the stage? Stage directions? How easy could that be? So Emily gave Alyria a headset then and there with a script to learn the stage directions and to get a little more familiar with the show and Aly nodded, leaving to the studio right next to the garage.
The studio had a very high ceiling, brick walls, a piano, sound system, a wall length mirror. Alyria loved it! The community theatres in Italy, that she could remember, were never like this. She went over to the piano and sat down opening the script to see the first act, yet Alyria kept glancing down at the piano. Oh how she wanted to play it for a while. It was only three and the Tech Hours weren't until six anyway. Alyria smirked and set the script down atop the piano and gently rested her fingers on the piano, thinking of a song to play. She thought for a few minutes before thinking of a song from the new Disney Channel movie Camp Rock. Demi Lovato's song This Is Me. Alyria loved the acoustic version so much, she learned it on the piano and started to play that. Of course Emily knew that this was about to happen.
"You're the voice i hear inside my head The reason that im singin' I need to find you, i gotta find you You're the missing piece i need The song inside of me I need to find you I gotta find you..." Alyria sang with her Italian accent disappearing...

Someone walked also into the theatre, looking exhausted and bored. It was the, by many eyes, dreamiest guy upon the basketball team, and possibly around the state. It was Jaide Fletcher Silverbane, a great friend of Alyria. He watched and listened to her and smiled to himself. He noticed her accent dropping and didnt say anything. He just watched and listened, like a good friend.
His green eyes seemed so trained on her, enraptured by her voice, by her beauty. He whispered to himself, "Love is such a pain for me." He chuckled lightly and stood up fully and moved down a aisle towards the stage and greeted Alyria, "Yo, Aly." He smiled at her, his hands in his pockets, as he stood there, looking at her. It was well known of Jaide's crush on Alyria, and how protective he was of her, came with being who he was, and what he had to deal with.
He said, "A beautiful voice, as always." He was always there to cheer her up, and compliment her, that many just thought they would go perfect together and some were trying to help Jaide get the guts. He shifted his footing and said, "I was...um...wondering...if later tonight or another night...if You'd like to join me for dinner." He smiled softly again at Alyria, knowing the way he asked it, that it sounded like he was asking her out on a date, not suprising enough if some from the school heard him.

From the room, you couldnt hear anyone come in. The doors never had a squeak, you could never make noise with the flooring, the only way to find out if a killer was there was to just look in the mirror! But why would you do that when the piano put a trance on you? Alyria had never taken real piano lessons, her father had just helped her out and she had taught herself a few months after. Her family was a real musical performance bunch. Her mother got her into theatre and her father, said previous, had gotten her into instruments. Her mother was her vocal coach as well as her agent, so to speak, for the community theatre back in Napoli. Her grandmother is too old to do any of that with her, however she does go to all of Alyria's performances, to what she has strength. Alyria was worrying at that point, thinking back to her time with her parents, what will happen next? Her grandmother is now very ill with a Thyroid cancer and it wont take long until ...
Alyria stopped playing the song mid-last verse and looked straight down at the piano, trying to think of a happier song to play, but before she could do so, she had heard the voice of a dear friend, Jaide. Now Jaide wasn't your typical friend that you are nice to from the start. For some odd reason, Jaide was a real dumbass toward Alyria when the two of them had met. She tried not to think of that, but it just popped in her mind. She didnt know what to do! Everyone knew that Alyria and her close group of friends were nice to everyone, however, thats because there was no real reason to be mean or rude to anyone they came across. The good thing was, after some time, Jaide had changed. He became more kind to her, although She couldnt get the feeling across her that he had liked her more than a friend. He was there whenever she had needed him, as well as the protectiveness toward her that came across from him.
Alyria smiled lightly and waved, greeting him and thanking him on his comment "Hey, thanks. I actually think I sound a bit hoarse," she shrugged, "but I dunno, maybe its choir at school thats doing it." Alyria's choir, Madrigals, had an important festival coming up and the Festival singers would usually sing a song from Eric Whitacre. Alyria was a first soprano and trying to hit the notes in Eric's songs weren't as easy as they sounded! Aly sighed and stood up, meeting him half way. She was listening to him go on ... or at least tried to spit something out ... as she moved toward him.
Dinner. Casual or date wise? Most people knew that Alyria and Landon had a thing for each other, seeing that every move they made together was a basic flirt, however neither made a move feeling that it would either ruin their friendship or they would get rejected and that would ruin their friendship. Aly had thought Jaide knew about the two of them, so maybe it was casual? Oh well, if anything farther happened during the time with him, she would see how it would go, "Sure," she gave him another smile and returned to the piano for a quick second to get the script for the show.

Jaide smiled when she said sure, and he nodded. Only then did it click in his mind what she said and he replied, "I'll pick you up at 7..." He then moved up the aisle and towards the doors. He looked at Alyria, his head turned and then smiled to himself, and then left, waving goodbye, for the moment at least. Now knowing Jaide and his only family left, Stephany, he had some sort of fancy car that he could take her in. Just which one would be the question, and of course, how would his sister react.
Jaide usually drove a motorcycle to school, and on some occasions, a 2008 Dodge Charger RT, and man was that a sweet car. Unfortanately, Alyria had gotten a drive home by Jaide and she had got the taste of Jaide hitting the pedal. The car was at her house faster then expected, that was for sure. However, he also had other cars to drive, a Mustang, a Kia Sportage, and a few others. Jaide's family was rich due to all the wills going to him and his sister Stephany. That was the Silverbane family, rich, spoiled, but also the greatest people you will ever meet.

Alyria nodded, "Okay, cool, see you then!" She grinned and then went back up to the piano slowly, turning the pages of the script while scanning out the various blocking orders. There weren't that many that she even needed the script! The play was about an hour long, and with a little time and effort on her hands, she could get the whole script memorized in a few hours! That time she had. Aly laughed to herself and turned to wave goodbye to Jaide, reaching the piano. She set the script down on the top of the piano and played a few chords as she read the play from beginning to end, making little characters in her head as she went along so not to confuse her reading.
The memorizing went by pretty quickly and was glad that a bunch of elementary schoolers were doing this! The story was a bit crazy, but on the other hand, she was proud that such young kids would do this in front of over 800 people without any problems at all! Once she had smiled to herself and looked at the clock, it was 5:15pm. Pretty good timing! All of a sudden, she snapped back into reality and was hearing a song by a boy band that she had liked. Aly tried a few chords with it and then laughed to herself. The song Future Love by Varsity Fanclub didnt sound very good on the piano, however, then she tried a few notes for the song All of Me and it sounded perfect! Although it was probably because the notes in the song were from a piano. She kept playing those notes and went into the chords, softly singing the words to herself.
