No one ever said being a vampire was easy.
Your loved ones die before you can really get to know them, and the constant hunt for blood puts you at risk for exposure. Plus, when you get sunburns, you get awful sunburns. Vampire hunters feel the need for your remains, even if it's not confirmed of your actual existence, and you have to move every few years to avoid the fact that you don't seem to be growing at all. Or changing.
But the sad truth of the matter is that vampires exist. They could be your neighbor, your postman, your garbage collector. And they aren't all that glamorous. Many are caught up in bed with gut wrenching pains as their thirst for blood overpowers their need for humanity. Most get by only on disability pensions.
Which only enforces the need for help. All vampire know the other vampires in their town. They're almost the only friends they can safely have without the heartbreaking threat of death. This also means conspicuous little groups growing and growing. It's only a matter of time before humans notice them and question their alibis.
Because, honestly, there's something suspicious going on. The deaths of more humans than is natural, to be exact.
When all the vampires are called to a meeting in the middle of the night, everyone will say that they weren't anywhere near the place where the body was found. Then a group of vampires will walk through the doors, blood dripping down their faces, a body in tow, and a strange leader. He will confess to the killings and include that no one will be able to stop him from killing all of the humans in this little town. Everyday a new body will be found, also drained of blood. One vampire, Ashley Taylor, recognizes the leader of the vampire group as Al, the one that killed her family.
